Looking rather beautiful on this still summer morning, Bottoms reservoir in Longdendale is here seen from ncr 62, where it uses the track-bed of the spectacular Woodhead rail route just along from Hadfield. This town was often the setting for Royston Vasey, where the characters in TV's League of Gentlemen lived: Although I enjoyed the show, I hadn’t realised it was a documentary until I’d spent a night in the place.
